Before Wam Bam Handyman became Colorado’s go-to for trusted, reliable home repairs, Jeffrey Robinson was mastering the trades in custom home construction and then performing underwater missions few can imagine. About
The Early Days: Learning the Trades from the Ground Up
Jeff’s journey began in 1997, right after graduating high school. He went straight into full-time construction work in New Jersey, spending every day learning different trades while helping build custom homes. It was there—on real job sites with real tools—that he gained his foundational skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and more. Those early experiences taught Jeff what it meant to build with quality and take pride in your work.

9/11 Changed Everything
Jeff was deeply affected by the events of September 11, 2001—he watched the planes hit the towers with his own eyes. The very next day, he walked into a Navy recruiting office and started the enlistment process. By February 2002, he was in boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois, ready to serve.

Scoring in the 95th percentile on the ASVAB, Jeff qualified for elite roles, including Navy Diver. He chose the toughest path: Naval Dive School.

Becoming a Navy
Deep Sea Diver
At the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center (NDSTC) in Panama City, FL, Jeff endured six grueling months of training. With brutal physical demands, blackout pool drills, and zero-visibility underwater tasks, it was one of the Navy’s most intense programs. Of the 60 people in Jeff’s class, only 14 graduated.

“We didn’t just learn how to dive. We learned how to survive underwater in chaos, with no vision, no oxygen, and complete reliance on our team. We called it aquatic adaptation.”
By April 2003, Jeff was a certified Navy Diver and stationed at the world’s oldest and largest naval shipyard in Norfolk, VA.
About
Underwater Missions, Worldwide Operations
Jeff's missions included removing 45-ton propellers from massive warships, updating torpedo systems inside tight submarine cavities, and completing dives lasting hours in total darkness. He logged hundreds of underwater hours, earned a medal for his work, and supported global operations with secret-level clearance alongside Johns Hopkins teams. The bonds he built with his dive team were unbreakable.

“We took turns watching each other’s lives. It was the most intense trust I’ve ever experienced—and it changed how I see teamwork forever.”
In 2006, Jeff was honorably discharged and moved back to California.

Founding Wam Bam Handyman
After years of seeing customers misled by employers who overpromised and underdelivered, Jeff launched Wam Bam Handyman in 2024—not just to work for himself, but to do things the right way for the people he serves. His goal was simple: create a company built on honesty, reliability, and a true commitment to quality.

“Helping people fix their homes gives me purpose. I’ve lived a life of service—from the military to your front door—and I bring that commitment into every repair I take on.”

Today, Jeff brings the same discipline, precision, and grit from his military and offshore diving days into every project. From stubborn doors to full remodels, he treats every home with the same care and respect he'd give his own.
